THE LOST BOY

Hmmmm, who could the Lost Boy in the the title be referring to? Well, as we open tonight’s episode, it seems like it just might be Mr. Dan Humphrey, who is busy making out with his new flame Georgina when Blair walks in and (understandably) starts screaming bloody murder. Dan leaves awkwardly and with his shirt open and runs into Serena and Vanessa in the hall, who are grossed out when they find out that the reason for Dan’s walk of shame is in fact, Georgina. But they decide to let him off the hook, as Serena puts it “Who doesn’t have a Georgina in their closet?”

Another one of Scott’s little white lies about class surfaces and this time Vanessa starts to get a little suspicious. He lies to her about being in a study group when really he is getting guitar lessons from Rufus, his unknowing father. He tells Rufus he wants to talk to him, but gets cold feet when Jenny and Eric enter the room. Jenny comments that Scott has been spending a lot of time around the apt. Later Vanessa tries to find out if he is really enrolled in that class he has been talking about, and in doing so she finds out that he is not even a student at NYU.

Serena meets up with Carter and she just as she is about to invite him to this Auction that she is going to tonight, a scorned ex-lover of Carters chews him out and then slaps him….which kinda kills the mood for Serena.

Blair stops by to see Chuck and when he tells her he has to prepare for a meeting rather than hang out with her, she gets mad and leaves. Just then she sees an invitation to join a secret society which she thinks will be the key to finding her place at NYU.

Dan follows Serena’s advice and awkwardly tells Georgina that they are just hanging out and not dating, which she seems fine with.

Blair tells Serena that she doesn’t like the idea of her dating Carter, that he is bad news and always will be. But Serena claims he is different with her. Later at his hotel, Carter argues with the front desk about supposed room service that he didn’t order. Serena offers him money, and doesn’t believe him when he claims he didn’t do it.

Chuck and Blair run into each other and in a twist that could only occur on TV, they both need the same item up for the Sotheby’s auction that is happening that same night. Blair needs the photograph to get into the secret society, and Chuck needs it to impress an important business partner. Of course, both of them refuse to back down. But later Chuck stops by and tells Blair that their relationship should be more important than the auction, and neither should get the photograph—it’s the only fair way. After a little making out, they read each other’s texts and realize that both had other people working for them to get the photograph. So once again, it’s on.

Vanessa confronts Scott about his not being enrolled at NYU and he completely comes clean. He tells her his real name is Scott Ronsson and that his birth parents are Lily and Rufus. She in turn tells him that when Lily and Rufus went looking for him, his adoptive parents told them he was dead. Scott asks her not to tell his secret yet, but soon she calls Dan and asks him to meet up with her for coffee. Well, of course she is about to tell him when Georgina comes in and ruins the moment. Georgina and Dan then do a little investigating of their own and they figure out that Scott wrote Dan that fan letter after his piece got published last year. So they both think he is stalking Dan.

Meanwhile, Scott tells Vanessa he doesn’t want to have to go through the ordeal of telling Rufus alone, and she tells him she’ll stick with him.

As the gang arrives at the auction…
Nate and Bree had made plans to hang out in public with Nate’s friends. When they show up at the auction, they purposely kiss in front of the paparazzi.

Serena tells Blair she was right about Carter and that he is the same old slimy Carter Baizen as always. Chuck then seconds Blair’s remarks.

Blair and Chuck still won’t give in to each other about the photography.

Vanessa and Scott try to talk to Rufus, but Scott’s mom shows up and he goes to talk to her.

Blair and Chuck get to arguing while their piece is up for auction and while they are distracted Serena ends up winning it. When Chuck and Blair ask her what she is doing, she tells them that she knows they are trying to set Carter up with the room service and the ex lover, etc. They both start talking about why they don’t like him and Serena realizes that he spent a lot of time alone looking for her dad and she feels guilty for not believing him.

Scott’s mom tells him that she lied to Rufus and Lily because they were so upset about having lost one son already (his younger brother) they couldn’t stand the though of losing him too. She said she would support him telling Rufus. Georgina and Dan find Rufus and just as they finish telling him that he might be dangerous, Vanessa comes up to them and tells them he’s not. Just then, Scott and his mom join the group and finally start to make the confession!! Except, wait just a min. He tells Rufus he is his dead son’s brother and he just wanted to meet him. Groan.

Serena gives the photo to Blair, who then feels guilty and gives it to Chuck. When Serena sees the invitation Blair got, she recognizes the handwriting and knows that Georgina faked it. Then when the Humphreys leave the event, Serena tells Dan Georgina has already left and he ends up leaving with Serena.

The next day, Serena tells Dan what Georgina did to Blair and Chuck and he calls G to tell her he wants to cool things off. She takes the news reasonably well, although she does have a creepy wallpaper of them on her laptop.

(It turns out the receptionist for the office of the business associate that Chuck was trying to meet with was also in cahoots with Georgina.)

Scott stops by to see Vanessa before he heads home to Boston. She tells him that he can’t ask her to keep this big of a secret from people she is so close to, but he maintains that it should be his decision. But, people should know better than to have these important conversations with the door open, because none other than the original trouble maker, Georgina, heard every word.

In that last few minutes of the show, Serena and Carter make up. Chuck tells Blair he wants to cash in his shares at Bass Industries and buy a hotel. They make up too. Carter sees Bree on the street and she ominously tells him she is glad to see him in town, after what he did to her family, having found him will go a long way in Bree’s plight to be accepted by her family. Oh, there is a threat in there too somewhere.

And the final scene, Georgina buying a train ticket…to Boston. Cue the scary music.
