 | | Serena and Carter are enjoying a lovely morning-after breakfast on the Upper East Side, while back at NYU, everyone’s favorite crazy (Georgina) is back in town. She has been stalking Dan on IM while she was away, and Vanessa urges him to tell G that he is dating someone else….that someone being Olivia, who is currently in Japan.
“Chair” and “Brate” have a double date and Blair makes it quite clear to everyone that she is not a fan of Bree. Nate thinks Blair just hates her because it shows that Nate has moved on. Bree mentions that she would like to see Carter Baizen, and Chuck later privately gets informed that she too, is a Carter-enemy.
Serena heads over to Lily’s to clear the air about her not going to Brown and she realizes that Lily is really mad at Rufus. Then Jenny and Eric walk in and confirm that fact. When Dan calls Serena to report that Rufus is sleeping at the loft, she vows to fix the problem.
Well, it doesn’t take Georgina long to move on to the blackmail stage of her plan. She has coffee with Vanessa and is complaining about why Dan won’t call her back. When V tries to be honest and tell her Dan is dating someone else, G says it is up to Vanessa to break them up, or else she is going to tell everyone Scott’s secret. G then makes V call Dan and try to convince him to break up with Olivia, but it doesn’t really work…at all.
In a Parent Trap-esq move, Dan and Jenny get Rufus to go the same restaurant that Serena and Eric make Lily go to in an effort to get those two together to talk. And somehow it works, for a while anyway. But then they start arguing again and Lily makes her exit.
When Dan tells Jenny and Eric about the phone call he received from Vanessa, they all conclude that Vanessa is trying to get Dan to dump Olivia because she really wants Dan for herself. So then Dan heads over to Vanessa’s room and makes a complete fool of himself telling her that he has known for a while how she felt about him, and that he cares about her but is really into Olivia. In an effort to stop him, she tells him G is actually blackmailing her, because Georgina knows that Vanessa knows that “Scott is actually your brother.” !!!
Meanwhile, both Lily and Rufus decide they love each other despite their problems and the just want to take the leap and get married already…the very next day.
Serena, Blair, Jenny, Dorota, the girls from Blair’s club and the new Mean Girls from Constance are busy planning the entire wedding. Meanwhile, on the groom’s side, Vanessa convinces Dan not to tell Rufus about Scott on his wedding day.
Dan gets to work trying to keep Georgina at bay for a day so she won’t ruin Rufus and Lily’s wedding. He tells her he wants to start dating her again, that things with Olivia didn’t work out. But guys, it’s Georgina. Do we really think she is going to be conned by a scheme of Dan Humphrey’s? Not on your life.
Chuck shows up at Carter’s place and tells him he has spoken to Bree and knows everything. So Carter has two choices: Go to the wedding and confess what he did to Serena and deal with Bree and her family, or leave town with the one-way ticket that Chuck is providing.
At the beautiful wedding held at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens, Carter shows up after all and makes his big confession to Serena. Apparently he had run up some major gambling debt and met a girl named Beth (Bree’s cousin) who was in love with him. He knew her family had money and saw an opportunity there. So he asked her to marry him and basically left her at the altar and skipped town. Serena understandably, is pretty angry.
Dan thinks he pulled off a flawless performance with Georgina, until she somehow shows up at the wedding. But at this point, he doesn’t know that she has brought Scott with her.
Lily continues to struggle with her vows and gets cold feet minutes before she is supposed to walk down the aisle. She and Rufus talk about it, when Scott walks up to them. Lily doesn’t know him yet, so she basically tells him to scram. Just then the gang comes up to join the conversation/find out what’s wrong and Georgina let’s everyone know just who Scott is, Lily and Rufus’ love child.
Dan and Vanessa confirm the statement and Lily and Rufus run off to find him.
Carter tries to comfort Serena, but she says she needs some time. Bree shows up with two of her linebacker cousins and Carter tells them where he is going to be later that night so that they may avoid making a scene a the former wedding.
Rufus accuses Lily of being scared of the situation, because for the first time, she will actually be in love with her husband, and that means being vulnerable to heartbreak. They finally catch up with Scott and in a heartfelt moment, Lily says she is scared, but she loves Rufus and they want Scott to be a part of their lives. And they all hug it out.
Cut to an adorable wedding in the Brooklyn loft, half-way in progress. Lily and Rufus both say their heartfelt vows and the deed is finally done. With Sonic Youth playing in the background, all seems to be well in the VDW/ Humphrey family. Lily and Serena make peace about Brown. And Dan, Jenny and Eric start to get to know their brother. Scott says he is going back to Boston, but will be back from time to time.
Chuck tells Serena that although he hates Carter, he risked a lot to go to the wedding and come clean to Serena. Serena then calls Carter, worried about what the Buckleys will do to him.
Nate confronts Bree and she admits that she was just using him to get back at Carter, and he asks her to leave.
Blair and Dorota arranged a scheme to get Georgina to fly off to Belarus with a “Prince” and it looks like she might actually be out of their hair for a while. Do we think this means Blair will finally have a Single at the dorms? Until next time, xoxo. |
