Chace Crawford talks to his parents every day, vacations with his younger sister and – unlike his Gossip Girl character – says dating a married woman is "a definite no." 'Gossip Girl' star Kelly Rutherford gives birth to a baby girl
"Gossip Girl" star Kelly Rutherford reportedly delivered her daughter at 10 p.m. Monday night in Los Angeles.
According to Radaronline.com, the actress welcomed her second child via natural childbirth at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in West Hollywood. No name for the new baby girl has been released yet. But she's bound to be as beautiful as her mom.Her brother, age 2 is named Hermes Gustaf. So we're thinking maybe Aphrodite or Hera?Whatever her name, it's a given that she will become the second child whom Rutherford and the baby's father, her soon-to-be ex, Euro-businessman Daniel Giersch, can fight over.Let's hope these guys can resolve their custody battle soon before the kids become affected.UPDATE 12:44 p.m: The baby's name is Helena Grace. Get it, Hermes and Helena. We got an H thing going on...
Ed Westwick is not fat!

At Hollywood Life's Young Hollywood awards, Breakthrough Male award winner Ed Westwick dished on the craziest gossip he's heard about himself.
"That I'm fat!" he exclaimed. "It was something like 'the wardrobe department on Gossip Girl has to keep changing his clothes due to his expanding waistline.' It's ludicrous!"
The actor wasn't worried about showing some skin when he hit the pool at the Mondrian hotel earlier that day with a female costar...
He was spotted sipping mojitos with his Gossip girlfriend, Jessica Szohr, and wasn't shy about taking off his shirt to catch some sun.
"He dazzled the crowd with his amazing body," according to an onlooker.
Looks like he's not a fat Bass after all!
As for how similar he is to his womanizing character, Chuck Bass, in real life, Ed says he likes to think he's a "little more secure and less destructive."

Do the petty jealousies of the high school teens on Gossip Girlseem a little true-to-life? Wait until you see what the series' author thinks about how girls treat each other aftergraduation. Cecily von Ziegesar, author of the wildly popularGossip Girl book series, has been writing a new series, tentatively called Cum Laude. It's not about the post high school misadventures of Blair Waldorf — it's a whole new series, with all new characters, and focuses on college life. But like Gossip Girl,it's evidently autobiographical, which— considering Von Ziegesar's own backstory— likely means there's more than a little drama in store. Von Ziegesaradmits, "I've mined my high school years for all they're worth, and now I'm moving on to college." Compare fiction to facts: Von Ziegesar graduated from Colby College, a small, liberal arts school in Waterville, Maine. Cum Laude's fictional setting is a small, liberal arts college in the fictional town of Home, Maine. Officially, the author has said that the series will focus on a group of students who meet at orientation and find themselves caught up in a swirling interpersonal drama. Not sure her new series will serve up the same deliciously nasty dish as Gossip Girl? Think twice. Colby College is notorious for its cushy Cape Cod culture (it's been called J. Crew with a hangover) and its work hard, play hard motto.

Gossip Girl Churning Out More Musicians

Blake Lively better learn the kazoo or something because she seems to be the only actor on Gossip Girl without an up-and-coming music career! Now, Penn Badgley, who plays Dan Humphey on the show, is talking about his own musical aspirations. He admits that he "loves music" and writes his own material. But don't expect to hear any of his sweet melodies quite yet; he is sticking to acting for the time being. "I mean music is my first passion, but because of that I don't really want to just take a first step in the wrong direction," he says. "At the moment, I just want to be sensible about what I do. I just write and I play, and that's all I need for myself right now." As for his Gossip comrades, Ed Westwick, Leighton Meester and Taylor Momsen, though he hasn't heard much of their material, he supports them none-the-less: "I wish them the best with it. I think it's awesome that they're doing that." Maybe there will be a musical episode of Gossip Girl next year. That would be cheesy and brilliant!

Brittany Snow's 'Gossip Girl' Spinoff Still Happening (Probably)

On Tuesday, barely two months after it was announced that Brittany Snow would be starring in a retro "Gossip Girl" spinoff entitled "Lily," Entertainment Weekly reporter Michael Ausiello "officially" confirmed the show was dead. Today, however, in a clear sign that "GG" fans still have a chance at seeing Lily Rhodes in all of her 1980's, Los Angeles glory, CW president Dawn Ostroff announced the show has a strong likelihood of becoming a mid-season replacement.
"It was the toughest year we've ever had, figuring out what to pick up," Ostroff told reporters, "because [our pilots] were all really, really good. We do have room for another midseason show. We have some reality, and we'll probably have another scripted drama. We're just going to take a beat and see where we are."
"In all honesty," Ostroff adds, "I think the Gossip Girl spinoff is the show that we would love to be able to find a place for as the season goes on."
Gossip Girl spin-off is offically a no go
Put away all of the scrunchies and the neon spandex. It looks like the Gossip Girl 80s-inspired spin-off is officially not happening. According to this roundup from The Ausiello Files the new show that was supposed to star Brittany Snow and Kristen Ritter has been canned by the CW and will not appear in the fall lineup. There have been rumors swirling around for some time that the spin-off would not get picked up by the network, but several fans were holding out hope that it might make it to the screen. We got a preview of what was supposed to be the pilot of the new show in the
Gossip Girl episode “Valley Girls” which featured flashbacks from Lily’s past. Apparently even the full-out 80s wardrobe and an appearance by supergroup No Doubt couldn’t save this sinking ship. We have to admit that we are a little bit bummed by this development. It looked like the show did have some potential and I really do like both Brittany Snow and Kristen Ritter. The 'Gossip Girl' star - who plays lothario Chuck Bass in the popular US show - isn't approached by people in the street because they have no idea who he is.
He said: "Can I go out and buy a pint of milk? Yes, I can. After the first season, I could come back here and no one knew who I was. But now it's changing. It comes with the territory.
"When I'm doing press and in a hotel there are paparazzi around. But when I'm in my day-to-day life people don't know who I am and I'm left to my own devices."
But the 21-year-old British Actor is adamant he will never shy away from the limelight like some of Hollywood's biggest stars. He explained: "I'm always going to go out and do what I want to do. It doesn't pay to close yourself off. You see situations with certain people where it has literally become a frenzy. You look at people like
Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie - people start to forget they are professional actors."

Chace Crawford, who plays Nate Archibald on
Gossip Girl, has reportedly grown tired of living and working with
Ed Westwick, who portrays Chuck Bass on The CW series. According to the
New York Post, Crawford is moving out of the New York apartment he shares his
Gossip Girl co-star and he's on the lookout for his own bachelor pad.
Crawford and Westwick have been real-life roommates since moving to the Big Apple for
Gossip Girl, and have been living under one roof in Manhattan's Chelsea district since the series began airing in 2007.
Now, Crawford is looking for his own space.
"Chace wants to move out to a bachelor pad. He wants privacy and has told his agent to spare no expense in finding the perfect loft," a source told the New York Post, adding that Crawford wants to live "downtown, in a secure building with a doorman."
Reps for Westwick and Crawford have yet to comment on the news.
At present, Crawford is busy filming the movie
Twelve, a drama about a high school dropout-turned-drug dealer whose lucrative life takes a dramatic turn in the wake of his cousin's murder on an East Harlem playground while his best friend is arrested for the crime. The
Gossip Girl actor will star alongside Kiefer Sutherland, Emma Roberts and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
Production for
Twelve already kicked off on April 20 in New York under the direction of Joel Schumacher.

EW recently caught up with Gossip Girl star
Leighton Meester in the recording studio, where she’s working on her still-unnamed debut album, due this fall (her first single is slated for July). The actress, who's best known for her bitchy-one liners as Blair Waldorf, says the album will have an electro-pop sound, and she's working with producers like Kenna (Lupe Fiasco, JoJo) and Polow da Don (The Pussycat Dolls, Fergie). "It's very pop," she says. "You can listen to it on the radio. You can listen to it in your car. You can dance to it."
Meester offered us an exclusive listen to three of the album's potential tracks. “Push and Pull” is an elegant anthem about making a relationship work; she says the song “takes my breath away.” On “Almost Perfect,” she takes a break from electro-pop for a stripped-down ballad lamenting a lover’s lies. The song ends with Meester bluntly spitting, "F--- you." "That was what we call an adlib," she says. Then there’s the pulsing “Lights Out,” produced by J.R. Rotem (Britney Spears), which has her singing very un-CW things like, "Don’t turn the lights out/I bet you like to watch." Meester plays coy when it comes to the subject matter. "Who knows what I’m talking about? Everything is kinda in metaphors." Maybe, we ask, she simply wants someone to spoon with? "Or fork." Even so, "there is somewhat of a sexual undertone to a lot of songs," she says. "I’m a grown woman [laughs]."
The 23-year-old actress actually began recording her music without a major-label deal. Some of her early tracks, like a cover of "Bette Davis Eyes," leaked onto the web, but Meester isn’t sure if they’ll make the album. (
Click here to listen) "I’m still figuring it out," she says. "I loved the song and I loved the feel of it. That’s what the feel of the rest of the album is gonna be." One thing’s for certain: it will reveal some intimate details of Meester's love life. "I’ve been through a lot as far as love," she says. "When I’m singing a song, I picture somebody in particular. A lot of it is to a guy." Which guy? Nice try: Meester won't spill (the actress had reportedly been dating her GG co-star Sebastian Stan).
It turns out Meester has loved music from a very young age. "I remember I was in the grocery store with my mom when I was little and I heard 'I Will Always Love You,' " she says. "I must have been 3 or 4, and I went, 'Mom, that made my back tingle.' She was like, "That’s what music is supposed to do.' I loved it." Meester, who will also spend her summer hiatus shooting the Single White Female-esque thriller The Roommate, has been inspired by some musical giants. "I really love Madonna, Cyndi Lauper, and Debbie Harry," says the actress. "Gwen Stefani and Fergie, too. They’re very strong women and have a completely unique sound." Meester also says she’s been grooving to Ladyhawke and Australian band Empire of the Sun. "I was in Paris and I listened to [their single 'Walking on a Dream'] like 40 times a day. I love them." Cobra Starship is another band that Meester enjoys, and she actually recorded a song, co-written by American Idol judge Kara DioGuardi, with the rockers (they're also shooting a video together). One other person she really wants to work with? Her GG co-star Ed Westwick. "I would love that. I’ve thought about it a lot, so we’ll see. He’s very talented."
Showtime's 'Californication' adds Ed Westwick, Eva Amurri as season 3 guest stars

Showtime has officially announced that
Ed Westwick (Gossip Girl), Eva Amurri (Saved!), and Embeth Davidtz (In Treatment) will guest star on David Duchovny-led Californication when the show returns for its third season this fall. The press announcement also included the news that Rick Springfield will also appear, but EW's Michael Ausiello exclusively broke that news on Tuesday. The four will join recently announced guest stars for season three, including Kathleen Turner, Diane Farr, and Peter Gallagher. Season three finds Hank (Duchovny) taking a position as a college professor. According to the release, "he'll attempt to shape the minds of the next generation of scribes while trying to hold down a 'regular' job and keep wild child daughter Becca (Madeleine Martin) on the straight and narrow."
As for the new guest stars, Westwick plays Balt, "a student of Hank's with a fascination for vampire lit" in episode 2. Amurri also plays a student, while Davidtz will appear as Felicia Koons -- wife of the school's dean (Gallagher) -- in 10 episodes. And as we already reported, Springfield will play himself in four episodes, although right now, Showtime is officially saying he will appear in "at least one episode."
