It's a battle of the generations: Courtney Love started a Twitter war with "Gossip Girl" star and Pretty Reckless frontwoman Taylor Momsen, as well as the Veronicas. Love took to her Twitter page to lash out at the young rockers, saying Momsen and Australian sister group the Veronicas are biting the former Hole frontwoman's act. Love tweeted: "Why does Taylor Whatsit deeply disturb me and why is the Blonde one from the verons or whatever they are called wearing my actual clothes?" She also personally tweeted each of her intended targets. "I don't watch tv or read teen mags and gossip rags so I wouldn't know," she wrote to Momsen. "Do not still 'like my music' please." Meanwhile, in a tweet to the Veronicas, she referenced how she felt they stole her look. "I asked you or your sister to just stop wearing the clothes she stole," she wrote, even though she later clarified that they hadn't actually stolen her clothes. In past MTV News interviews, the "Gossip Girl" star has referenced being influenced by Love and her band Hole, as well as by Nirvana. And earlier this week at her sweet-16 party in New York, Momsen addressed the fact that many times, her look is compared to Love's. "[You're] not the first person to say that," she said of the comparison. "And I love Hole, and they had a cool thing and a cool vibe, and I'm influenced by a lot of people."

How does it feel to be the first Latina on Gossip Girl? I'm so glad they finally hired one of mi gente!
I'm always proud to be Latin anywhere I go, but the fact that I'm breaking a little ground here makes me very excited!
Have you been bombarded by the leigons of GG's female fans in New York City?
I wouldn't say "bombarded," but I've been surprised with how popular the show is. It's exciting!
I hear your character Bree is a bit of a bitch,*****, just like Blair. And a bad girl. Is that true?
That's kind of a big myth! She certainly is not a bad girl at all! She comes from a different world—from a rival Texas elite family that has a lot of beef with the Archibalds. So there's a lot of tension that comes from that, and there are some interesting stories that are a little dramatic. But there's a great deal of getting along between Nate and Bree.
Everyone from EW to TV Guide has also made your character sound like a Miss America type—a kind of Carrie Prejean clone. Is she like Prejean?
No. I don't know where that leaked into the press. She certainly isn't a debutant or a beauty queen or anything like that. She's very grounded, very sweet, and very smart. And she certainly isn't blonde!
Woah, woah, woah, wait! You mean you're not returning to your blonde Reba roots for the role? Everyone seems to think you are!
No, no, no, no, no! I'm as red as it gets! I'm Privileged red!
Does your character, Bree, share scenes with Leighton Meester's Blair or Blake Lively's Serena?
Yeah, absolutely! Actually, in the first episode we just shot, Nate and I come out of our romantic little bubble, and I'm introduced to his friends.
Does your character have drama with Ms. Waldorf?
You know, I think Blair tends to have drama with a couple of girls, right? I don't know that they [Nate's friends] are immediately welcoming of Bree—I will say that.
Is Bree hiding something, or is she a what-you-see-is-what-you-get kind of gal?
She definitely has layers, I will give you that. But I don't think she's hiding something.
What else can you tell me about Bree?
Anything you want to know! She's really a very confident girl. She's a strong young woman, well-educated. She's certain about who she is and where she came from. She is open to possibilities of change in her life. She's also sort of the black sheep in that she doesn't follow the rules the way society has expected her to b ehave, and that is what attaches her emotionally to Nate. They're sort of bred to hate each other, but in reality they find a lot of camaraderie.
Is Nate (Chase Crawford) a good kisser?
Chase is everything you would imagine him to be, and more!
Who are you close with from the GG cast?
Chase and I have spent a ridiculous amount of time together, and he welcomed me with open arms. Jessica Szohr and I have also spent a ton of time together. We have a tremendous amount of mutual friends back in L.A., so we already had that together.
Let's talk about Privileged, because it was a privilege to watch your stunning work on that show. Are you sad that it got canceled? You have so many fans!
In my heart, yes. I think obviously I was tremendously attached to the project and incredibly connected to the rest of my cast and my crew. And I do believe we had a lot of stories left to tell. What is so wonderful is getting to work here in New York and getting to meet so many people around the country that have overwhelmingly given their love and support and their regret that Privileged is no longer on the air. However, I respect the decision [the CW made]. I'm a television actress, and I've been on TV now for many years. Most of those years the CW has employed me, so I know they have a lot of respect for my talent, and I know that they are very well aware that I loved Privileged.
How many episodes of Gossip Girl will feature your character?
I'll be there for four!
Maybe more?
For now it's four, but there's always the possibility of more. I would love to do more, simply because I love the people. I wish I could claim full responsibility for every decision made in my career. I have a team of people that have very brilliant opinions. The good thing is that the people on my team are in the Gossip Girl family, so hopefully I can talk them into letting me come and play.
I have to know: Do you gossip in real life?
Doesn't everybody? (Laughs) I don't read the tabloids. I don't get into that. I think I know too well the reality of those kinds of things, and what it means for our lives as actors. But I think gossip happens.
You haven't talked to anyone about your hush-hush GG role. Why did you choose to talk to Latina.com?
I'm not shy about talking about the role, but if I'm going to sit down for about 30 minutes on my day off, I want to talk to people that I know and love! And you guys have always been great to me!

"I live a very adult life," the high school graduate (she got her diploma two years early!) tells Teen Vogue in the September issue, hitting stands August 4. "What am I going to do, hang out with high school kids? I just can't relate to what they talk about – it seems so petty."
And that includes high school boys. Momsen, who claims to have been in "lots of relationships," admits that she could never date someone her own age. "Boys are so much less mature than girls as it is," she explains. "I would eat a boy my age alive."
Instead, Momsen is eschewing the idea of a traditional college education, opting instead to take a few classes online, sing in her band, Pretty Reckless, and act, of course.
"I'm an artist; I'm not going to use trigonometry," she says matter-of-factly. "For most people college is a place where you learn about yourself, and I feel like I'm doing that already. I'm already independent."
But what about college friends? "I have such trust complexes," Momsen confesses. "I'm close to like, two people."
Still, all her insecurities seem to fade away when she steps in front of a crowd to sing her music. Having spent most of her life in front of a camera (Momsen began modeling at age 2), she's used to the spotlight, and doesn't mind if her Gossip Girl fans don't understand her rock star persona or her new look.
"I'm pretty, but I'm not, like, a 'pretty girl,' " she says, adding that she modeled her new 'do on a Joan Jett photo. "I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn't me that changed – it was just that I decided to start being myself."

When viewers last saw Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford) in the season finale of "Gossip Girl," he was heading off to Europe with ex Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szorh) after splitting with Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) yet again – but the actor told Access Hollywood on Thursday he'll have a new love interest this fall.
"She's a beautiful southern girl," Chace said of his character's new romance,
played by "Privileged" star Joanna Garcia. "They've got the conflicting family backgrounds, [so] they kind of hide the relationship and it plays out. It's good. Joanna Garcia's lovely, so we're having a good time."
"Gossip Girl" returns to The CW on September 14, but fans will have to wait a little longer to see Chace unleash his dance moves on the big screen in the remake of "Footloose." "It's been intense," Chace said of his training. "It's not the gymnastics stuff so much. I have a bit of athleticism so they're letting me see what takes shape and create something original."
Original "Footloose" star Kevin Bacon previously told Access that he was "looking forward" to seeing Chace step into his dancing shoes, which the young actor called "really nice!"
Still, don't expect him to bring his moves to the clubs anytime soon. "[Director] Kenny [Ortega] was like, 'Get ready, we're going out' – that's one thing I can't do, be that kind of guy in the club," Chace said.

 With the exception of some new faces, not too much is known about the next season of Gossip Girl, except for where the characters will be attending college now that their high school days have come to an end. And with Blair Waldorf (Leighten Meester), Vanessa Abrams (Jessica Szohr), and Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) all enrolled at NYU, it made sense that the actors spent Monday evening filming a scene at St. Patrick’s Old Cathedral School in the heart of New York City’s Nolita neighborhood, far from their former Upper East Side stomping grounds. During the taping, which attracted a large crowd of fans who were snapping photos and craning their necks to get a better view, Vanessa was seen talking to an unidentified male, whom she enthusiastically introduced to Dan after he came to say hello. And as always with Blair, fashion trumped comfort and practicality — she looked gorgeous in a fitted red dress and sky-high white heels, but had obvious trouble getting up and down the steep steps outside the building. In between takes, Meester nervously tapped her over-sized purse against the side of her leg, avoiding eye contact with the spectators who had gathered. Vanessa, on the other hand, looked much more classroom appropriate in a flowy yellow top, shorts and flats. Noticeably absent from the scene was Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively), who will be in Rhode Island attending Brown University when the CW show returns Sept. 14 — but we can only imagine what kind of trouble she will be getting into there. Chace Crawford may be PEOPLE's Hottest Bachelor – but he still has close ties to his old friends, who helped him celebrate his birthday over the weekend. The Gossip Girl star flew 15 high school and college pals from Dallas to New York to celebrate his 24th birthday – which was Saturday – along with his new friends, such as costar Sebastian Stan and actor Toby Hemingway. "His hometown friends got along great with all his New York city pals," a source tells PEOPLE. The whole gang then flew on V1 jets from the city out to Watermill, New York, where they stayed at some private digs for the weekend-long birthday bash. "It was the best birthday Chace ever had because he was amongst his closest friends," says the source. The group barbequed, ate, drank and were treated to meals cooked by a private chef, according to the source. They also played games and went swimming. But it wasn't all chilling on the sand: To raise the excitement level, they chartered a speedboat and went out in kayaks. And in honor of Crawford's birthday on Saturday, "They, of course, sang 'Happy Birthday,' " says the source.

There’s a lot of guest stars coming on, new relationships are formed.” In addition to Hilary Duff, former Privileged actress Joanna GarciaChace Crawford. Actress HILARY DUFF made sure she was a hit with the cast and crew of GOSSIP GIRL when she filmed her cameo appearance on the hit show - she arrived on set with cupcakes. The 21 year old guest stars as college student Olivia Burke in upcoming episodes of the teen programme, which stars Chace Crawford and Leighton Meester. Duff wanted to ensure she got on well with her TV colleagues - so she turned up to the New York City shoot armed with baked goods.
A source tells OK! magazine, "She was coming into a tight-knit group; she wanted to get off on the right foot." The blonde beauty isn't the first actress to win over her castmates with sweet treats - Katie Holmes generously bought cupcakes for the 200-strong cast and crew working on her 2008 movie Mad Money.

Following the internet leak of the Anna Sui for Target lookbook last month, Target execs have been quick to backpedal on any suggestion that the range has been inspired by Gossip Girl. "One of Target's top executives got nervous about being that closely associated with the show, given the [debauchery] its characters get into," a source told the New York Daily News. An episode of Gossip Girl was scheduled to shoot inside Anna Sui's SoHo flagship store last Thursday. Models dressed in the designer's Target range were going to be used as extras in the background, and even Sui herself was rumoured to make a cameo appearance. However, Target pulled out of the shoot at the last minute, leaving everyone on the Gossip Girl set furious. "The crew was thrown into a frenzy because they had to scrap everything they had planned," says an insider. "They can't believe Target would bail on them, especially after publicly announcing the collaboration. It's Target's loss, because the line would have sold better if it had played a part in the show." Regardless of the fall-out, the Anna Sui for Target collection will go on sale in September as planned.

But now, word is that Footloose star Crawford is hot-stepping out on Jessica Szohr's man and moving downtown to be closer to Wall Street. Why Wall Street? Yeah, we're not sure, either.

The "Gossip Girl" star-turned-punk rocker has been keeping some late hours moonlighting as a rock star in her band, the Pretty Reckless. "I'm nocturnal," Momsen told MTV News. "I'm a vampire, I decided. I write at night. I don't write a song; I write in a stream of consciousness. I never edit everything. I have books of lyrics. You can write a hundred songs from it, but I try to pick one stream." Momsen said she had been hard at work on her music long before she formed a band and got a record deal. "I wrote the whole record first before I looked for a band, really," she said. The debut Pretty Reckless album, which drops in the fall, will cover a wide range of topics, none of which you should analyze as direct comments about Momsen's life. "A lot of the songs aren't specific," she said. "I write about how I feel and what I think and what's influencing me at that moment in time. It's not necessarily about a boyfriend, even though it might sound like it. Every lyric has at least four different undertones. There's a light version ... and then a really, really demented version. There's different ways to see it. That's the way I like it, 'cause I don't want you to know everything about me." But there is one thing about her she wants to clear up. Thanks to her life on "Gossip Girl," Momsen knows how powerful rumors can be. And there's one particularly crazy rumor she insists just isn't true. "I don't really Google myself," she said. "I try not to. I read somewhere there was this whole blog about how I shoot heroin. I was like, 'Guys, I don't shoot heroin.' Sorry to burst your bubble, but that's really obscene. I like Kurt Cobain, but I'm not trying to emulate everything about him."

The CW star, whois in the midst of a bitter custody battle with Giersch over the former couple's2-year-old son, Hermes, and newborn daughter Helena, reveals to Life & Style that she chose to leave her spouse while she was pregnant because "it was pretty obvious [they] weren't getting along." Add to the mix, according to Rutherford, entrepreneur Giersch's mounting legal troubles involving several lawsuits and "things only got more intense."
Soon after filing for divorce, the 40-year-old actress found herself in the delivery room giving birth to her baby—but without Giersch present. "When you're in labor, you don't want the man you're divorcing in there, especially someone who's said cruel things about you," she explains. Meanwhile, things are heating up in the L.A.courts, as Giersch tries to prevent Rutherford from taking Hermes back to New York while she works onGossip Girl. "I'm notmoving without my kid," she insists. "I'm not doing anything without my son." What's more, Rutherford believes having dad out of the picture altogether wouldn'tbe so bad. "The most important thing is that children have love and stability in their lives, whether that comes from a mother or a father. [Alone], I can raise them to be much more peaceful."

Blake Lively, the gorgeous star of the hit  TV show Gossip Girl, comes by her good looks without too much effort."I have never worked out," Lively, 21, says in the August issue of UK Glamour. "I do panic before I have to wear a really skimpy outfit, but I don't have enough willpower [to exercise]."Even shooting a scene where she had to wear cut-off jeans and a bra recently didn't faze her. "I had to do a scene in a bra and shorts for the first time in two years," Blake recalls. "On the day of the shoot, I ate a pork burrito, chips and coke. Afterwards, I thought, 'I probably shouldn't have done that.' But whatever."When you look that good naturally, it's hard to make a case for regular workouts. But the svelte Lively wants to start working out at some point because she knows exercise is good for you."I know you feel better when you [work out], so I am planning on getting a trainer," she says. As you may already know, Joanna Garcia starred on another CW series called Privileged but that show got canned so, thankfully, she got picked up to join Gossip Girl. It’s unclear what character she’ll be playing (sexy older woman? college teaching assistant?) but one suspects she’s just as rich as the GG kids are. The scenes filmed today were done on a heliport … so Garcia’s character prolly has a lot of cash. I can’t wait to see if she brings something new and exciting to the show.

 Is the Upper East Side big enough for Serena, Blair and the Duffster?! We're about to find out because the onetime tween sensation is joining Gossip Girl for a multi-episode arc, sources confirm to me exclusively.The actress-designer-pop chanteuse will play Olivia Burke, a movie star who enrolls at NYU in search of a traditional college experience. She ends up rooming with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) so it's safe to say she'll be majoring in Drama!Duff will debut in this season's fourth episode, slated to air Oct. 5. Gossip producers spotted an opening in Duff's schedule after NBC passed on her comedy pilot Barely Legal. What say you, Gossip gurus? Do you approve of Duff's casting? Thoughts on who she'll be paired with romantically? (My guess: Dan.)
