I Like It Like That is the fifth book in the bestselling Gossip Girl series by Cecily von Ziegesar.

The fifth Gossip Girl novel covers Spring Break for the Constance Billard girls and their respective GG II Book Five - Gossip Girl Fansguys. Blair Waldorf doesn't want to go to Hawaii with her new step-family and pregnant mother. Serena van der Woodsen offers Blair a way out by inviting her to a skiing trip in Sun Valley, along with her hot brother Erik van der Woodsen. Nate Archibald (now sober) is going to Sun Valley as well alongside his new girlfriend whom he met in rehab. Dan Humphrey has landed an internship at a new NY literary magazine, and Vanessa Abrams struggles with keeping her films from her eccentric parents. Jenny Humphrey frets over her boyfriend's strange and mysterious lifestyle.

I Like It Like That is preparing readers for future upcoming events. Blair still doesn't know what college she'll be attending, and she and Nate are still back and forth with one another. Events in this particular book help Blair come to terms with the fact that her mother is having a baby.

Dan and vanessa keep dancing around one another as well. Humor seems to be the engine that keeps the book moving. Dan's internship, Blair's efforts to impress Erik, and an event in which Serena is found almost naked help to keep things interesting and new.
