DAN DE FLEURETTE
Jeweled headband or no jeweled headband? As Lil J prepares for her first day as Queen of Constance, she is determined to change the rules and create a more fair society and free of mean girls. Unfortunately for her, when she gets there, the students expect her to rule the school with an iron fist.

Meanwhile at NYU, there’s a new kid in town, Olivia Burke, a famous movie star that has recently enrolled. Clearly Dan has no idea what she looks like and barely knows who she is. Separately, and totally unrelated, (wink, wink) Dan meets a cute girl, Kate, and she buys him coffee when he forgets his wallet. They have a moment.

Blair is really trying to make friends/minions at NYU but she can’t seem to find a crowd where she fits in. So she starts to think about the good old days of Constance…when the world made sense to her...

And back on the Upper East Side, Lily returns! Serena and Rufus had been practicing breaking the news about Brown to her, but that didn’t seem to do any good because when Serena actually tells her, Lily is determined that Serena will go to Brown.

Jenny, in her first act as queen, gets everyone together and makes a speech about the new era of fairness that she intends to implement at Constance. She tells them no more headbands, and that anyone can sit on the steps of the Met, not just the cool kids. All is going well for Jenny, that is, until Blair finds out…

So, in order to convince Lily that she is serious, Serena starts looking for a job. She goes on many an interview, but surprise surprise, it’s not that easy, even for Serena van der Woodsen.

“Kate” aka Olivia Burke, famous actress, ends up being Vanessa’s roommie. Turns out she is just trying to have a normal college experience like everyone else, but it's not that easy if you are a movie star. She and her publicist are arguing at lunch at the table next to Serena and S gives Olivia some tips on how to exit the building without the Paps seeing her. Serena and Olivia’s publicist Casey get to talking and next thing you know, Serena is considering a job in publicity.

Nate and Dan are hanging out when they see Kate/Olivia at the table across from them. Nate, of course, recognizes her and cracking up, he tells Dan he should go ask her out, purposely not clueing Dan in on who she really is. Minutes later when Dan and Kate leave together to go get pizza, Nate can’t believe it.

Casey wants Serena to work for one of Olivia’s co-stars to get her ready for a big movie premier they have coming up. Ursula (played by Tyra Banks!) is the biggest Diva of them all and poor Serena has to deal with her. But by the next day Serena has warmed Ursula’s heart (and somehow made her slightly less crazy).

Blair is back in the Upper East Side and when Chuck questions her about it, she says she is tutoring some students…although he quickly figures out she is having the annual Waldorf sleepover with the high school kids.

Dan and Kate are on yet another date and he still has no idea who she really is. She tries to tell him that her life is pretty complicated, but it’s Dan, so he doesn’t catch on (despite people on the street stopping to stare at her). She pretty much breaks up with him right there, saying she can’t be the type of girl he wants. A little later, Vanessa invites Dan to a movie premier. Can you see where this is going?

Serena is back at work calming down Ursula. It turns out that her big scene was cut, though, and Casey doesn’t want Serena to tell her. She claims it's for her own good, so that Ursula won't skip the premier, which would be a detrimental move to her career. Serena is unconvinced but goes along with it.

At the Waldorf annual sleep over everything is going just as Blair hoped it would: a bunch of girls gathered around Blair, practically worshipping her. Then all of a sudden the girls get a text from Gossip Girl saying that Jenny is at the big movie premier with none other than Chuck Bass!

At the movie premier, Rufus has tricked Lily into coming and seeing Serena in action in the hopes that she will respect her Brown decision a little more. It doesn’t exactly work that way and Lily tells Serena that Casey exploited Serena’s celebrity and connections, why else would she hire an 18 year old with no skills and no degree?

Dan runs into Kate and thinks she lied to him earlier when she told him she had to work that night. He is part hurt, part angry and part confused, he sees the photographers taking pictures of her and calling her Olivia. Still failing to make the connection himself, she finally admits who she really is.

When Ursula sees that her big scene has been cut, she runs out of the theater crying. Casey tells Serena that it is good publicity for Ursula to go in front of the cameras after having a meltdown. Serena realizes that Casey used her and lied to her. Later, Serena defies Casey by telling Ursula that she should not throw a fit, but rather be gracious if she wants to be taken seriously. And in doing so, she gets fired.

Blair shows up at the premier and starts screaming at Jenny, although when she finds out Chuck put her up to it, she redirects her anger. She basically tells Chuck that it’s over, no one at NYU cares that she is Blair Waldorf or cares about the hierarchy or any of it. She tells him she is giving up but he tells her not to insult him. He is Chuck Bass and she won him over, she can do the same for the nobodies at NYU. She is, after all, Blair Waldorf.

Olivia finds Dan after the premier and apologizes. He tells her that his last few relationships have been full of drama, and he is not a fan. She tells him she understands, and walks away. Dan clearly should tell her not to go, but doesn't.

On her way out of the premier, a paparazzi asks Blair to if he can take her picture. When she asks him why, he says “Aren’t you Blair Waldorf?” Mojo officially restored.

Back at home, Serena decides to move out and Lily blames Rufus for Serena’s decision about college.

Back at the dorms, Vanessa convinces Olivia to try again with Dan.

Blair has decided she is not going to take this NYU situation lying down and has decided to form her own club of people like her who went to a Constance-like high school and have ended up at NYU. Chuck had an outfit delivered to her and asks her for a one-on-one tutoring session. Things seem to be finally looking up for Miss Blair.

And just in case we hadn't already figured it out, Chuck paid the Paps to take that picture of Blair.

Ursula (read: Tyra) called Casey and told her that she needed to hire Serena back or else she would no longer be a client of theirs. Serena apparently helped Ursula find herself. Ironic verbage there, Ursula.

Vanessa calls Scott in Boston but he blows her off to talk to Georgina who called him on the other line and who he is meeting at a restaurant shortly. What on Earth could she be up to now?

At Constance, Jenny is turning into the Queen they need her to be, and she tells her minions to wait at the steps of the Met for her, with a yogurt.

And Olivia tells Dan that she never gave him a chance to get to know both sides of her, and she’d like to if he is still interested. Of course he is, so they start over.

Happy endings all around. Until next time: xoxo.
