| | Gossip Girl decides to liven things up at the Constance Billard and St. Jude's graduation by sending out a shocking a damaging email blast in the midst of the commencement ceremony, stirring Serena (Blake Lively) to come up with a plan of attack. The Mean Girls (guest stars Yin Chang, Nicole Fiscella, Amanda Setton and Dreama Walker) challenge Jenny (Taylor Momsen) to throw her hat in the ring to succeed Blair (Leighton Meester) as Queen Bee next year. Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Rufus (Matthew Settle) struggle to repair their relationship after Lily’s betrayal. As for the cliffhangers, Blair and Chuck (Ed Westwick) finally... and Serena is shocked by... and Georgina (guest star Michelle Trachtenberg) decides to... and Dan (Penn Badgley), Nate (Chace Crawford) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) unknowingly... and it all happens in the series' climactic season finale. | On Gossip Girls season 2 finale, we find most of our favorite Upper East Siders graduating high school.
Blair and Serena talk about how glad they are going to be when GG leaves them alone when they get to college. Nate and Vanessa make nice and Nate invites her to the huge After-Grad party he is throwing.
The mean girls tell Jenny she should try out to be Queen next year but she just wants to end the monarchy. Both Blair and the minions think they are in charge of picking the new queen. And guess who else is vying for the position? Little Emma that Blair babysat and prevented her from losing her virginity! Looks like Blair really did leave an impression on her.
Blair tries to tell Chuck that she broke up with Nate, but chickens out at the last minute. Rufus and Lily are still arguing at the graduation ceremony. During the ceremony, everyone in the place gets a GG blast: Nate is a *****, Dan is the ultimate insider, Chuck is a coward, Blair is a weakling, and Serena is irrelevant. And Serena decides that GG must go down. S rallys the troops against GG, while Nate divulges to his grandpa all about his affair with Catherine. Yikes.
Nate tells Chuck he and Blair broke up. Dan tells Serena that he doesn’t see their friendship continuing through next year. The crew deduces that GG goes to Constance/St. Jude and is their age. Serena texts her at a party and none other than Jonathon’s cell phone goes off! Could it be him?
Sadly, no, he just hacked into GG’s account over Spring Break, leaving them with access to all of her emails. They find out that she gets lots of messages that she doesn’t report on right away, but rather she waits until the perfect moment to drop a bomb. Jenny finds a piece of gossip that is sure to win her queen.
At Nate’s Party, Jenny tells Blair she has info about what she did over NYE with Jack, and Jenny looks like she is going to use it. Blair and Chuck have a sexy scene where she asks him how she feels about her, when ooops, their cell phones go off! GG sends out all of her gossip at once: Dan and Ms. Carr, Jenny and Nate and that weird photo shoot with Agnes’s friend, Blair and Uncle Jack, Chuck and Vanessa, etc. And she blames it all on Serena for snooping into her identity.
So everyone turns on each other, except Nate and Dan kinda back Serena up. Chuck is really mad at Blair, and she tries to pick up where they left off. She tells him she loves him and asks him to tell her he loves her too, but of course its Chuck and he doesn’t.
Lily and Rufus take a trip down memory lane and decide to get married after all.
Serena sends a message to GG to meet her at a bar or else she will divulge her identity (even though she is just bluffing). One by one the gang start coming into the bar…each of them got a text from GG telling them to meet Serena there. GG says she would be nothing without them, and that she will follow them to college =)
Blair tells Jenny some new gossip so she can be queen, and has decided it’s over forever with Chuck…which is good because he is hanging out all around Europe, according to GG.
Nate asks Vanessa if he can go backpacking with her, and she eventually agrees. Dan meets a fellow future NYC student, a transfer from BU (who also happens to be his half brother!!) who is lying to his parents saying he is in Portland. Georgina calls Dan and tells him she got his money back, but doesn’t explain what happened with Poppy. So then Georgina says she will see him at NYU in the fall, and requests her best friend, Blair Waldorf as a roommate. Season 3 is going to be awesome!!
Jenny and Blair crash the coronation ceremony with a GG blast of all the mean girls’ secrets Jenny got while trying to protect Nelly Yuki. She takes the headband (read crown) and gives it to Lil J.
Serena is getting ready to leave for her trip when she runs into Carter who has some news…about what she was looking for in San Torini…her Father!! Who is apparently now in Fiji. She and Carter take off together.
And Blair and Chuck! He was in Europe picking up all of Blair’s favorite things and now he is back and admits he was being a coward. She tries to blow him off, but he finally says those magic words: I love you too! And all is right in the world.
