■ IT'S A WONDERFUL LIE SHOW EPISODE SYNOPSIS
CW Synopsis
Full Episode Synopsis
For the annual Snowflake Ball, Blair (Leighton Meester) and Chuck (Ed Westwick) make a bet that they can find the ideal dates for each other. Aaron's (John Patrick Amedori) ex-girlfriend, Lexi (guest star Natalie Knepp), expresses an interest in Dan (Penn Badgley) which creates conflicted feelings for Serena (Blake Lively). Nate (Chace Crawford), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) get into a tangled situation that puts their friendships and hearts on the line. Kelly Rutherford and Matthew Settle also star.Well, winter is in full swing and for our favorite the Upper East Side Seniors, that can only mean one thing: the Snowflake Ball. Our episode tonight opens with S helping B to choose a candidate to be her date. Chuck gives her a hard time about it, and she feigns disgust at him, per usual.

Serena shows Dan a book she got for Aaron and tells him that she is going to the ball alone. Dan says that he will be going alone as well, and he suggests they should hang out there. Then they both go together to Aaron's studio to meet his charming ex, Lexie, who happens to be talking smack about Serena as they walk in. Later Serena is complains about her to Aaron and she manages to make him go to the dance with her in exchange for being nice to Lexi. In the other room, Dan and Lexi seem to be hitting it off and he offers for all of them to go on a walking tour of Brooklyn.

Over in Brooklyn, Jenny is pretty stressed out about her life's recent turn of events. She tells Vanessa that although she is back home and that part of her life is coming together, she is still weirded out by what happened with Nate. Vanessa tells her she should just move on, and leaves abruptly when Nate calls. Then Penelope asks Jenny to create her a dress for the ball.

Lily is organizing the ball, and she has asked Rufus to help with the sound system. Bart comes by during set up and tells Lily that he is sorry for having his PI investigate her and her family, and that he wants to take her to the ball with him and she agrees.

Things are heating up between Vanessa and Nate and he asks her to go to the ball with him. He casually mentions how Jenny blew him off anyway. Just then, someone walks by and snaps a pic. of Vanessa and Nate kissing.

Back in Brooklyn, Penelope tells Jenny that she plans to ask him to the dance, when they both get the GG post and just stand there shocked. When V comes back by the house, they fight about who had him first, who stole him from whom, who is putting guys before friends, etc.

Chuck and Blair decide it would be fun or funny or something to choose each other's dates for the dance to see which one knows the other one better. If Chuck likes her date, she gets his limo for a month and if she likes her date, Chuck gets Dorota.

While walking around Brooklyn, Lexi gets Dan to ask her to go to the ball, all four of them together. When Aaron asks Serena if she would be cool with that, she also mentions that Lexi likes to sleep with guys on the first date. Serena tries to act like she doesn't care, but we know better. Later she reveals to Blair that she and Aaron haven't slept together yet. She then implies to Aaron that she wants to do it with him after the ball.

Jenny delivers her dress to Penelope and while there they concoct a scheme to get Vanessa back for both stabbing Jenny in the back and "fishing" in the Upper East Side "pond" by dating Nate. Izzy has a silvery see-through dress and Jenny delivers it to Vanessa, saying she made it as a peace offering and V should wear it to the ball. It looks like just a normal beautiful dress until the light shines on it. Vanessa tries to confess/apologize to Jenny about stealing Nate's letter, but she gets interrupted and doesn't.

Lily discovers that Bart has a meeting with his PI, and leaves word for him that he shouldn't come to the ball after all.

At the ball, Lexi tells Dan that Aaron told her that Serena plans to give it up that night after the ball, clearly information Dan could live without. Later when Dan and Serena share a dance, Dan brings it up to her and Serena shares that Lexi plans on seducing him that night as well. Serena gets angry at Dan for not being completely opposed to the idea of sleeping with Lexi, and she storms away.

Chuck and Blair realize that they have both picked out less hot versions of themselves for each other's dates, but the bet is still on. Later they find their mini mes have ditched them...for each other.

Vanessa tells Jenny that she plans to end things with Nate and that she never meant to hurt her. She then goes to Nate and tells him how she stole the letter and just as she is walking away crying, the spotlight gets her and she is caught wearing a see-thru dress and being laughed at by the entire school. Jenny called out to her about .2 seconds before it happened...too late Little J, the damage has been done. Jenny tries to follow Vanessa out, but she is not having it. Nate finds out that Jenny had a part in this plan, and is livid with her and tells her he is glad she didn't get the letter. Later he forgives her for stealing the letter, and they leave the dance together.

Lily tells Rufus that she has decided to leave Bart and they share a dance. Later, she tells him how she doesn't want to hurt Bart or the kids. Rufus consoles her and tells her he regrets letter her go on her wedding day. Chuck sees them having this intimate conversation and calls Bart, who is in the limo with his PI, and tells him to hurry over. At first he tells the PI his is not interested in any information he has dug up, but after talking to Chuck, he wants the info.

Chuck asks Blair for a dance, but she is hesitant, reminding him that he himself told her they would never be able to have a nice, normal, pleasant relationship. Eventually they share a dance anyway.

At the end of the night, Serena comes to apologize to Dan and tell him she is sorry she got pissed before about him and Lexi. They both tell each other that the night they slept together was the best night of their lives. Just then Lily comes up to Serena and tells her that Bart has been in an accident.
