| Blair (Leighton Meester) does not approve of the new man, Cyrus Rose (guest star Wallace Shawn), in her mother's (guest star Margaret Colin) life, so she makes it her mission to break up the lovebirds by any means necessary. Jenny (Taylor Momsen) moves in with Agnes (guest star Willa Holland) as the friends move forward with their plans for a fashion line. Serena (Blake Lively) continues to fall for the new guy in her life, Aaron (guest star John Patrick Amedori), but she learns something about him that threatens to end things just as they are getting really good. Dan (Penn Badgley) decides to win the trust of Bart Bass (guest star Robert John Burke) in order to learn more about the man and possibly write an expose on him for Vanity Fair, but things get heated after Chuck (Ed Westwick) finds out the real reason Dan is spending so much time around his family. Matthew Settle also stars. | Our story tonight starts out in Brooklyn where we learn that Jenny has moved in with her new model friend Agnes (and her mother) and that Dan is getting that much coveted recommendation for Yale. His mentor introduces him to someone who is interested in an expose on Bart Bass, and they pressure him into writing the piece. Meanwhile, Blair, Serena and the mean girl crew plan B's 18th birthday party. She informs the crew that she is excited to meet her mom's new boyfriend, Cyrus. Soon we find out that Cyrus is, well, kinda gross. In Blair's words he's "totally unsuitable...I was expecting Cary Grant and got Danny DeVito." Blair channels Grace Kelly and tries to accept him. Blair gets jealous when Cyrus makes plans to take her mom to see Cyndi Lauper the night of her party. Jenny and Agnes run into some creative differences during a meeting with a potential backer, showing a slight glimpse that they really are just teenagers that like fashion rather than capable business owners. Agnes promises that she will find them another business manager tomorrow...but then Jenny finds her hung over the next day and blows up at her, again. She then goes behind her back and gets a meeting with the investor from before. He tells her she needs her parent's signature since she is only 15. Aaron is busy courting Serena and asks her to pose for her. They have a sexy/romantic/cheesy? photo shoot and the next morning Serena loves his piece that he made of, well, her. Everything is going smoothly and then the next thing you know, in walks model Danielle, and Serena leaves in a huff. Later S calls him and finds out he is still hanging out with Danielle. Chuck tries to be nice to his dad and gets him Rangers season tickets so they can spend more time together, but of course Bart just insults Chuck's efforts. Dan uses his Serena connection to get access to Bart and they make plans for Dan to shadow Bart after school. Chuck walks in as Bart is asking Dan to accompany him to the Rangers game. He then uses his connections to find out what Dan is up to. Dan finds out that Bart had a little issue with arson years back, and Dan is excited to expose the story. Rufus, however, has his doubts. Later Bart confirms the allegation to Dan and adds that a man died in that fire. Chuck comes forward and tells his dad that Dan is writing a piece. While escorting him out, Chuck asks Dan sincerely not to write the piece. Blair finally confronts her mother, asking her how she could possibly love Cyrus...her mom says she can trust him. Blair, not satisfied with that answer, decides to scheme. She finds out that he fell in love with a woman named Kim Lee while abroad. When he went back to tell his wife the marriage was over, Kim Lee was killed. And then he ended his marriage and they parted as friends. Blair then manipulates the story to her mother, "he's just like daddy, he had an affair," leaving her mom reeling from the news. Later, Agnes finds out that Jenny went behind her back, and shows us her psycho side. She takes Jenny's dresses and torches them in the street. Oh yeah, and she kicks her out of her house too. Jenny then goes back to her dad, but just only to ask him to sign the papers. When he refuses, she takes her things and takes to the street. Jenny decides to divorce her parents and become emancipated, if that's what it takes. Dan kills the story about Bart, so at least Rufus has one child under control. At the party, Serena finds out that Cyrus is actually Aaron's father and he tells her he is "quite smitten" with her. She then decides to give him another chance, and runs out. Just then Eleanor confronts Cyrus with this new info she has, and when he confirms that he indeed cheated on his wife, she asks him to leave. Soon after, Cyndi Lauper shows up...apparently Cyrus bought out her concert so she could come play at Blair's party. Oh, Blair, what have you done this time? When she goes to find him and apologize, they both praise each other's scheming, and come to a truce. Dan remembers that he is a good, moral guy and sends Bart the short story he wrote about Chuck a while back which explained how Chuck feels that his father can't love him because he blames him for his mother's death. Bart then apologizes to Chuck, and tells him he wants to spend more time with him. They even agree to go see a Rangers game together. Serena walks in on Aaron still hanging out with Danielle and he gives her a "condescending lecture" about how he likes to date more than one person at once, and how they are not exclusive. Later, he tells her he really likes her, and that he doesn't want the same life his parents have. This strikes a chord with Serena, and they go out on a date. Blair has just gotten used to the idea of seeing Cyrus around from time to time when...(cue the doomsday music) her mom announces that Cyrus is moving in with them...immediately. Poor B. |
