- Blair is not one to be blackmailed, so she hatches a scheme with Chuck to humiliate Vanessa. She wants Chuck to seduce Vanessa. First he agrees, then he tries to back out. But then Blair offers herself to Chuck for one night. So the scheme's back on.
- When Serena learns that the party Bart and Lily are throwing to debut their new family is really a publicity stunt on Bart's part (at least according to Chuck.) So she puts on a sexy barely-there dress and makes a scene, including commenting on her lack of underwear.
- Dan joins the soccer team and he and Nate start spending more time together. Then he learns that Nate is squatting in his old house (the government repossessed it.)
- Blair finds herself jealous of Chuck's attentions to Vanessa--even though she orchestrated it and for all intents and purposes he's doing it so he can spend the night with Blair. Blair ends up deleting the photo from Vanessa's phone and telling her about the bet, effectively humiliating her. Blair then tells Chuck he won and can claim his prize.
- Chuck does not, in fact, claim his prize. He gets Blair all revved up and then informs her that he's chased her enough, now it's her turn.

| ■ CHUCK IN REAL LIFE SYNOPSIS
CW Synopsis
| Full Episode Synopsis
| | Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) uses the scandalous picture of Catherine and Marcus to blackmail Blair (Leighton Meester) into being a nicer person, so Blair seeks revenge by enticing Chuck (Ed Westwick) to seduce Vanessa. Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Bart (guest star Robert John Burke) throw an extravagant housewarming party and expect their children to make them proud in front of the attending press, but a rebellious Serena (Blake Lively) isn't ready to play by their rules. Meanwhile, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) discover a big secret that Nate (Chace Crawford) has been keeping from his friends. Matthew Settle also stars. | This episode of GG brings us, betrayal, forgiveness, blackmail, an almost hook-up, a secret revealed, a sinister bet, and a party. In other words, it's a classic. Vanessa is involved with saving a building in Brooklyn and is petitioning for "landmark status." Realizing its kind of a lost cause, Vanessa pulls a Blair move on the queen B herself and blackmails her with the photo on her phone of B's ex making out with his stepmom. Blair schemes with Chuck against Vanessa and he accepts either to get back at Dan, or to get closer to Blair...or maybe both. She wants him to seduce Vanessa and at first he agrees, but later when he tries to call everything off, Blair realizes she has to raise the stakes and offers herself to him. Looks like B is pretty excited about this turn of events. After blowing him off, Vanessa comes crawling back to Chuck to save the building. When he agrees, she admits she was wrong about him. Little does she know... Meanwhile, over at Chez-Bass/van der Woodsen, the kids are told that Lily and ChuckBart intend to throw a party to debut their new family. Serena is not buying it, but Eric thinks the parents are sincere. Later Chuck tells S that the party is a publicity stunt for some of his midwesten clients. Pissed, Serena dresses up in a smoking dress to go out looking for paparrazi. "Oh, I forgot to put on underwear!" she says to Bart as she walks out the door. Later on she fights with Lily, about her not being there for the kids and always choosing her boyfriend of the week over them. This episode shows that Dan is now a big soccer (geek) star. He makes plans with his new best bud Nate: "Want to hook up for some soccer later? Sweet, bro. Love it." Later Dan discovers that Nate is squatting in his own home alone, without electricity or furniture. "Poor little Nate is, yuck, poor" Dan invites him over for dinner. After a lovely meal of chili at the hokey Humphry household, Dan confesses that he knows Nate's secret, and there goes his only male friend. Blair and Vanessa both show up to the party, and having those 2 in one place can only mean trouble. Chuck to convince Bart to buy the building, while Bart berates him in front of Vanessa, leaving Vanessa to think she really does know the real Chuck Bass. Blair sees Chuck and Vanessa together and (you guessed it) gets jealous of and cancels the bet. Chuck accuses B of being afraid to go through with the terms of their bet, and Blair couldn't agree less, but rather than explain herself, she just storms off. Meanwhile, in the living room...Serena learns that Bart told Eric that his boyfriend Jonathon is not welcome at the party and this is pretty much the last straw for Serena, as evidenced by how she blows up at her mom in front of a reporter when asked how closer her family is and then storms out. Later, Blair erases the Marcus-Catherine incriminating photo from Vanessa's phone, and just to twist the knife a little more, she tells Vanessa about the bet, causing Vanessa to leave, humiliated. Blair essentially lets Chuck win the bet, and asks Chuck to claim his prize, but he instead goes back to talk to the building owner and tells him he still intends to buy the place. The owner then becomes the second adult that evening to insult Chuck's character. Serena and Dan run into each other outside Nate's house, and have a heart-to-heart...their first one in quite a while. They both apologize before Bart comes to pick up Serena. Then Lily apologizes to Serena, and vice-versa. Pretty much apologies all around. Nate comes back to Dan's (implied apology on both sides) And at least for this episode, everyone is happily every after. Well not everyone... B has been waiting for Chuck in her bed and a few steamy camera shots later we think we can picture how this night will end for these two love birds/enemies. Chuck asks Blair to tell him he loves her and when she can't say it, he refuses to continue the evening with her. And as Chuck leaves Blair on her bed, in her undies, we are left with just a little foreshadowing from Chuck: "I chased you for long enough, now it's time you chased me..." |
